It has been a tiring week to say the least, what with my preparation for the qualification interview for the MPA, as well as the trip to Singapore for it, and then attending the Yervant workshop, all in the space of 1 week.
But, as the week comes to a close, i prepare to come home with a feeling and sense of achievement having qualified as a member of the MPA as well as having picked up many valuable tips and techniques from perhaps THE best Wedding Photographer in the world, Yervant. But over and above these, i must say that what i found most fulfilling was the fellowship that accompanied these events. Meeting up, getting to know and comparing notes with photographers from across the region was a real eye opener.
Most that were present shared the sentiment that it was indeed a positive step for such gatherings towards bringing photography prefession to a level it belongs, to gain more recognition that it currently has. To that end, much thanks firstly the MPA, fantastic individuals such as Jim Liaw, Matthew Tan, Charlie Lim, Ryan Teck, Yervant and the rest of the gang.
And i'd give a special shout out of thanks to Charlie, Matthew and Agnes for having made us feel very welcome, you've made our stay a very memorable one. Oh, and my very good friend Waldersee, thanks for inviting us to stay over, it was great!
Having witnessed and felt the enthusiam of all involved, i am glad that i am apart of the ongoing efforts of the MPA and would like to urge all Malaysian full-time professionals to come join us in qualifying for the MPA as next year, the as yet unconfirmed plan is for the qualifications to be held right here in Kuala Lumpur! (for more details on this, feel free to contact us).
In closing, i'd just like to share a few of the pictures that i presented for my qualification assesment. Check it out..
